Terms of Service
The terms below govern our locksmith services in Foster City and the San Mateo Peninsula. Last updated May 2026.
1. Agreement
By contacting Foster City Locksmiths or requesting service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not request service. We may update these terms from time to time; the version in effect when you request service is the one that applies.
2. Services
We provide mobile locksmith services in Foster City, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Redwood Shores, and the surrounding Peninsula. Services include residential lockouts, rekeying, lock replacement and installation, commercial master-key systems, electronic access, automotive lockouts, car key replacement, and key fob programming. Availability of any specific service depends on the lock or vehicle in question and on technician scheduling.
3. Quotes and Pricing
We provide a price estimate before any work begins. The estimate is based on the information you give us over the phone and what the technician finds on arrival. If the actual work requires more time or different parts than the estimate covered, the technician will explain the change in writing or verbally and obtain your approval before continuing. You may decline at that point with no obligation beyond a service-call fee for the dispatch.
4. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash, major credit and debit cards, and certain digital payments. Receipts are provided. Commercial accounts may arrange invoicing in advance.
5. Workmanship Warranty
We warrant the workmanship of our locksmith services for ninety (90) days from completion. If a service we performed fails because of how we did the work, we will return and correct it at no charge. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, tampering, normal wear, environmental damage, or work performed by someone else after we left. Manufacturer warranties on hardware we installed pass through to you per the manufacturer's terms.
6. Customer Responsibilities
You confirm that you have the legal authority to request service at the address, vehicle, or property in question. We may request identification, proof of ownership or tenancy, or vehicle registration before performing certain work, including lockouts and rekeying. We reserve the right to refuse service if we have reasonable doubt about authorization. This protects you and the property from unauthorized access.
7. Limitations of Liability
We perform locksmith work using accepted industry methods. In rare cases, locks, doors, or vehicle components may fail or sustain damage during service because of pre-existing wear, manufacturing defects, or unusual lock configurations. Where damage is the direct result of our negligence, we cover repair or replacement of the affected component. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages such as missed appointments, lost business, or rental expenses. Total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.
8. Emergency and After-Hours Service
Emergency response times depend on traffic, weather, and current dispatch load. We give you a realistic estimate before dispatching. Emergency service may carry a different rate than standard scheduled work; the rate is disclosed before the technician is sent.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel a scheduled appointment without charge if you contact us before a technician is dispatched. Once a technician has been dispatched, a service-call fee applies whether or not work is completed.
10. Photography and Documentation
Technicians may photograph the worksite or installed hardware for internal job records and warranty documentation. We do not publish customer photographs without explicit written consent.
11. Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern about service, contact us first. We will attempt to resolve the issue directly. If we cannot resolve it, disputes are governed by California law and any legal action must be filed in San Mateo County, California.
